There has been an increase in student interest in campus sustainability. Moreover, in the last several years students have been figuring out how to get credit for it. Examples include the McGill Food Systems Project (http://mfsp.wordpress.com/) and the recent McGill Energy Project, whereby students have partnered with stakeholders on campus (e.g. McGill Food and Dining Services; Utilities and Energy Management), identified ...more »
McGill should ensure that its students graduate as worldly citizens conscientious of social, economic and environmental impacts they affect and can effect in their communities, wherever they go.
The McGill cafeterias should be redesigned to encourage ownership and participation. They should become gathering spaces. Why does Mcgill libraries not have a adequate supply of headphones for rent? They could be 3-6 hrs rentals, that way we would not over consume the cheap headphones the library supplies students with right now. The rent-able headphones could be bought from a north american company.
Install water bottle fill stations in all the libraries to make it easier to use reusable bottles.

McGill should start a pilot program for paper-less administration. Equip ...more »
student and staff maintained bee hives, with students able to learn about honey bees, their plight, and also the honey collected could be used in mcgill food and dining in place of sugar (healthier)
Include community outreach/engagement as part of staff performance assessment or credit for volunteer work (staff and student)
Develop and publicize ways for people who come up with ideas to have that idea happen. Not everyone can make it happen by themselves. There should be some group or committee or people or office or meeting place that can help connect people and maybe provide some help in writing business plans and managing projects.
Voyager en vélo est très bon pour l'environnement, mais en ville il n'est pas toujours facile de trouver un BIXI à proximité. Il en faudrait plus, car c'est écologique et économique !
