Provide exam booklets with less pages for mid-terms and tests. The standard booklets are fine for 3 hour exams, but waste far too much paper when used for shorter 50 min tests.

Consumption of paper by administration is discouraging. Everybody keep track of every transaction, conversation, decision by printing on a piece of paper, often time single side. Online course packs would save both the university and the students money by removing printing costs. Course packs could still be rented out by the bookstore, but it could be in a DVD format.

This allows for targeted replacement of high-traffic or soiled area and saves us replacing carpet that is still perfectly usable.

McGill should have a place where each Department or Unit can post items or furniture or materials and supplies they no longer need or use, all or some of these items might be of use or value to another Department or Unit.

If there is a justification, a fair market value cost could also be changed to the Department taking the goods crediting the Fund of the selling Unit.

Use the zero-waste 'rethink-reduce-reuse-recycle' criterion in waste and resource management

Most offices and work stations have their own garbage bins (with a plastic bag) and a recycling bin. This mean that every night, custodial has to empty these bins and often replace the plastic garbage bag. Remove all of the indivuals garbage and recycling bins and put them in one ore more central place depending on the size of the office.
