Use campus as showcase for urban agriculture

We already have several edible garden projects on campus run by student and community groups...Santropol Roulant even does apiculture. We saw canteloupes and tomatos grown in front of James Admin. We have an orchard. Wouldn't it be fun if we grew more fruits and veggies on campus and used it as a delicious showcase of the tertiary and/or experiential learning opportunities that can be provided by urban agriculture?

Improving cafetaria spaces

The McGill cafeterias should be redesigned to encourage ownership and participation. They should become gathering spaces. Instead of tables and chairs being bolted into the ground, they could be arranged so that people feel like they can eat and discuss together. Co-op system for students

Students could leave McGill with work experience in their field, money to repay any debts, professional contacts, and the ability to apply the knowledge gained from an academic setting in the real world! Also, this would allow businesses and community groups the opportunity to discuss and coordinate internships with McGill and encourage more students to learn French!

Interactive Online Forum for all McGill Community members

While there is communication and action amongst student groups, administration and faculty members in implementing sustainable measures on campus, there should also be an emphasis placed on integrating the entire McGill community in the discussion so that there is a platform everyone to equally access, know about, and participate in the sustainability discussion of McGill and with the greater Montreal community.
